Dvele Fence Installation: The Austin Owner’s Guide
Dvele fence installation in Austin typically runs $3,500 – $9,000 installed, depending on linear footage, fence style, and whether we’re replacing an existing fence line or building new. We stock Dvele-compatible panel kits and post hardware at our Austin shop, and most installations are completed in two to four working days once materials are confirmed. Homeowners usually find us after a windstorm snapped a post at ground level, or after they’ve noticed sections leaning and realized the original install didn’t use enough concrete depth for our soil.

We’re an independent Austin contractor, not a Dvele dealership. But we’ve worked on enough Dvele homes around Mueller, Zilker, and Circle C to know their fence systems well, and we keep the compatibility specs on file so you don’t have to chase down part numbers yourself.
Which Dvele Models This Applies To

Dvele homes shipped to Texas use a panelized fence system with powder-coated aluminum posts and composite horizontal slats. The two most common series we see in Austin are the Dvele Perimeter Panel (the full-privacy version with interlocking tongue-and-groove slats) and the Dvele Screen Panel (a semi-open design with 1-inch gaps for airflow). Both use the same 4×4 aluminum post profile, but the rail brackets differ between series, and they are not interchangeable.
If you’re not sure which series you have, pull one slat and look at the stamped code on the back lip. Perimeter panels carry a “DPP” prefix followed by four digits; Screen panels carry “DSP.” You can also measure the slat width: Perimeter slats are 5.5 inches wide, Screen slats are 3.25 inches. That measurement alone saves us a trip and saves you a second visit charge.
OEM Dvele panels are factory-cut and match the original powder-coat color exactly, which matters if you’re only replacing one section. Quality aftermarket equivalents exist, but the black finish on aftermarket posts tends to read slightly warmer than Dvele’s charcoal. For partial replacements, we recommend OEM. For a full fence rebuild, a quality aftermarket panel line can save 15 – 20% without any functional downside, and we’ll walk you through that option before you commit.

Signs Your Dvele Fence Installation Is Failing
- Leaning posts after heavy rain. Austin’s clay soil expands and contracts aggressively. If your posts were set in less than 24 inches of concrete or without gravel drainage at the base, wet winters push them out of plumb. This is the most common Dvele fence failure we fix in this area.
- Slats pulling free at the rail brackets. The aluminum brackets Dvele uses are solid, but they were installed with stainless fasteners at the factory. If a previous contractor replaced a slat with galvanized hardware, you’ll see rust streaks and loosening within two years.
- Visible corrosion at post bases. Sprinkler overspray is relentless here. Aluminum doesn’t rust like steel, but it does oxidize when constantly wet and buried in soil. White powdery buildup at the base means water isn’t draining away from the post.
- Gaps opening between slats. Composite slats expand and contract with temperature swings, and Austin sees 100 degrees in August and hard freezes in January. If the original installation didn’t leave proper expansion room, slats buckle or pull apart.
- Loud rattling during north winds. That’s usually a rail bracket that’s lost its rubber isolator. Small part, easy fix, but left alone it lets the aluminum rail wear against the post and oval out the mounting hole.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Austin, fence installation prices break down like this:
- Full Dvele-compatible fence replacement: $3,500 – $9,000 depending on footage and post condition.
- Partial section repair (one or two panels): $400 – $1,200, including matching fasteners and re-setting any shifted posts.
- Post replacement only: $180 – $450 per post, dug out, re-set at proper depth, and concreted with gravel drainage.
Your written price includes removal and haul-away of the old fence, any concrete work, all hardware, and a walkthrough after we finish. The number we hand you before work starts is the number on the invoice. No change orders because we hit harder digging than expected, no surprise disposal fees. That’s the Kingswell Way: we say the price before the work, show up in the window we gave, and leave the place cleaner than we found it.

DIY or Call Us?
There are a few things you can safely check on your own. Walk the line after a storm and look for posts out of plumb. Press on each slat to find loose ones. Note where sprinkler heads are hitting posts. Those observations help us quote more accurately by phone.
What we don’t recommend is digging out and re-setting posts yourself. Austin’s clay doesn’t compact the way the YouTube videos assume, and Dvele posts carry the full weight of interlocking panels. A post set just a few inches shallow will lean again in under a year, and now you’ve paid twice. Same goes for rail brackets. If a bracket has ovaled out its mounting hole, the fix isn’t a longer screw; it’s a new bracket and usually a post sleeve, and doing that to a live fence line while it’s under tension is a good way to get hurt. FAQs

A properly installed Dvele fence with aluminum posts and composite slats should last 20 – 25 years in Central Texas. The failures we see are rarely the panels themselves. They’re installation shortcuts: shallow posts, no drainage, or the wrong hardware. Fix those, and the fence outlasts the paint on your house.
Leaning is usually repairable. We dig out the affected posts, re-set them at proper depth with gravel drainage, and re-hang the existing panels. Replacement is only necessary when the panels themselves are cracked, warped, or have pulled free from the rails in multiple places. Call (325) 225-5429 and we’ll assess it for free.
Most Austin jobs run two to four working days. That includes removal of the old fence, post setting with concrete cure time, panel installation, and cleanup. If we’re matching a partial section, it’s often done the same day as materials arrive.
We keep common Dvele-compatible hardware in stock: rail brackets, rubber isolators, stainless fasteners, and post caps. Full OEM panels we order per job, which takes three to five business days in Texas. Aftermarket panel alternatives are often available faster. Either way, we handle the ordering and the matching so you don’t have to talk to three suppliers.
If you’ve got a Dvele fence giving you trouble in Austin, we’ll come walk it with you and tell you what it costs to fix, in writing, before you decide anything. Tell me what you need, I’ll tell you what it costs, and we’ll go from there. Call (325) 225-5429 for a free estimate.
