Caesarstone Kitchen Remodeling: The Austin Owner’s Guide
If your Caesarstone counters are cracked, chipped, burned, or separating at a seam, we can replace or remodel the affected areas. Most Caesarstone-focused kitchen remodels in Austin run between $14,000 and $45,000 installed, depending on how much of the kitchen we’re rebuilding and which Caesarstone colorway you’re matching. The failure you’re seeing usually starts small: a hairline crack radiating from the sink cutout, a dull spot from a hot pan, or a seam that’s drifted slightly open. Left alone, these get worse every year through the Austin freeze-thaw cycle and summer heat cycling.

The fix isn’t a tube of adhesive. Quartz like Caesarstone is an engineered slab, and when it fails, the repair almost always means cutting out and replacing the affected section, or re-fabbing the whole run if the slab was poorly supported underneath.
Which Caesarstone Models This Applies To

We work with the full Caesarstone catalog, from the classic 1000-series (Pebble, Raven, Pure White, Frosty Carrina) through the more recent Supernatural and Whitelight collections. The important thing to know before you call is that Caesarstone slabs are manufactured in specific thicknesses, either 2 cm or 3 cm, and your install determines a lot about what’s possible for a repair.
A 3 cm slab can sometimes be sectioned and replaced without touching the cabinets below. A 2 cm slab is almost always glued to a plywood or cement board substrate, which means the demo work is messier and you’ll need the new piece shimmed to the exact height of the old one. We also stock and install Cambria, Silestone, and KraftMaid cabinetry for homeowners who want to rethink the whole kitchen rather than patch it. One compatibility gotcha worth knowing: older Caesarstone colors are occasionally discontinued, and while Caesarstone keeps a rotating list of close-match current colors, the match is never perfect across a room. If you need an exact color match on a slab that’s been in place for a decade, budget for replacing the full visible run, not just the damaged section.

Signs Your Caesarstone Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- A crack running from the sink or cooktop cutout. Quartz is rigid and doesn’t flex. When the cabinet underneath sags or the sink rim wasn’t properly supported, the slab cracks at its weakest point. Once it cracks, water gets in and the crack widens with every seasonal temperature shift.
- Chipped edges near the dishwasher or drawers. This is usually a clearance problem. If a drawer face or the dishwasher door hits the counter edge when it opens, the edge will chip. It’s not a slab defect; it’s an install tolerance issue.
- A seam that feels raised or grabs a fingernail. Countertops settle. Cabinets settle more. When the substrate under the seam moves, the seam opens. Epoxy fill is a stopgap, not a permanent fix.
- A dull, chalky spot or a ring-shaped mark. Caesarstone is non-porous but not indestructible. A hot pan set directly on the surface can burn the resin binder, which leaves a stain that no cleaner removes and no polish hides.
- A slab that visibly tips or rocks at an overhang. That means you have a bar top or island overhang with insufficient support. Unsupported quartz overhangs of more than 6 inches will eventually crack under their own weight, and in Austin we see it happen faster because outdoor-facing kitchens cycle through bigger temperature swings.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Caesarstone kitchen remodel in Austin typically lands between $14,000 and $45,000. A smaller scope, like replacing one run of countertop and a backsplash, sits at the bottom of that range. A full gut with new cabinets, island, counters, and tile work pushes toward the top.
What moves the number:
- Slab color and thickness. Whitelight and Supernatural lines run higher than entry-level 1000-series colors.
- How much demo and substrate rebuilding is needed. Rotted plywood under a 2 cm slab means cabinet top work before stone goes down.
- Cabinet condition. If your existing cabinets are sound, you save thousands. If they’re sagging under the stone, they go in the estimate.
Every quote includes the demo, substrate repair, new Caesarstone slab, templating, fabrication, install, and cleanup. We hand you a written price before any work starts, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the install in writing. If a seam opens or a slab settles inside the guarantee period, we come back and fix it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
Here’s the honest split. You can safely assess the damage: photograph the crack, check whether the slab rocks at the overhang, and look under the sink cabinet for water staining on the cabinet top. Those observations help us quote accurately.
What you shouldn’t do is try to epoxy a structural crack. Quartz is heavy. A slab section for a 4-foot run weighs over 200 pounds. Cutting it out without the right rail saw and lifting equipment puts you in a hospital or puts a hole in your floor. And no caulk, resin, or home repair kit will fix a crack that’s moving. It’ll fail again in six weeks. If you’re looking at a crack that’s grown or a seam that’s separated, call us at (325) 225-5429 and we’ll put eyes on it. Tell me what you need, I’ll tell you what it costs, and we’ll go from there.
FAQs

Caesarstone countertops should last 25 to 30 years with normal use, but Austin’s heat cycling and hard water can shorten the usable life of an improperly installed slab to 10 or 12. The stone itself doesn’t wear out; the substrate and seams do. If your cabinets are solid and the original install was done right, replacement is more likely driven by a style change than a material failure. Call (325) 225-5429 and we’ll tell you honestly if a repair makes more sense than a replacement.
A hairline crack in a low-traffic area can sometimes be filled and stabilized, but any crack near a sink, cooktop, or overhang is structural and will keep moving. The honest answer is that a moving crack needs section replacement, and sometimes full run replacement if the color is discontinued. Get a free estimate at (325) 225-5429 before you spend money on a repair kit.
Most full Caesarstone kitchen remodels take 3 to 6 weeks from demo to final cleanup. Countertop-only replacement is faster, usually 1 to 2 weeks including templating and fabrication. The templating step alone takes half a day, and the slab needs 3 to 5 business days for fabrication. Call (325) 225-5429 and we’ll give you a written timeline with the written price.
We order per project from Caesarstone-authorized fabricators in the Austin area, which means your slab is templated to your exact kitchen. We don’t keep full slabs sitting in a warehouse because quartz colors run in the hundreds and dead inventory drives the price up. The fabrication lead time is built into your written timeline, so there are no surprises.
No. The number we put in writing before work starts is the number on your invoice, unless you change the scope. If we open the cabinets and find rotten substrate, we’ll show you, explain what the additional work costs, and get your sign-off before proceeding. We don’t hand you a change order at the end and call it the cost of doing business. That’s the Kingswell standard, and it’s been our way since 2004.
If your Caesarstone counters are failing, call (325) 225-5429 or stop by our Austin shop. We’ll walk the kitchen with you, measure, and give you a written number the same day. No pressure, no surprises, no price that changes at the door.
