Abodu Driveway & Pavers: The Austin Owner’s Guide
If your Abodu driveway or paver section is cracked, sinking, or separating at the seams, we stock Abodu-compatible driveway and paver components and install them throughout Austin, usually within the same week. A typical paver driveway repair or section replacement in Austin runs $3,500 – $9,000 depending on square footage, base condition, and paver style. Most owners discover the failure the same way Trevor Nash does on a walkthrough: you notice a low spot holding water after rain, a paver rocking underfoot, or a crack that ignores the joint pattern and runs straight across three or four pavers like it has somewhere better to be.

Which Abodu Models This Applies To
Abodu homes ship with modular driveway and paver packages designed around their compact-lot footprints, and the paver dimensions are the first thing to check before you buy anything. Most Abodu driveway pavers we see are 60mm concrete pavers in either a 4×8 or 6×9 modular size, but we’ve also matched 80mm units on sites where the driveway handles heavier vehicle traffic or sits over a steeper grade. The quickest way to identify what you have: pull one paver near the edge and check the underside for a manufacturer stamp, then measure the thickness with a tape. If that stamp is worn off, measure one full paver and call us with the numbers, we’ll match it from the truck or order it same week. On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question: Abodu doesn’t manufacture pavers themselves, they source from regional concrete suppliers, so a quality 60mm interlocking paver from Belgard or Unilock will drop into most Abodu layouts without a visible seam difference. What matters more than the brand is the height, the chamfer profile, and the color tone. Get the height wrong by 10 millimeters and you’ll feel that lip every time you pull into the driveway.

Signs Your Abodu Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Water pooling in the same spot after every rain. This almost always means the base layer under the pavers has eroded or settled. Austin’s clay soil expands and contracts through our wet-dry cycles, and once the base shifts, the pavers above tilt with it.
- A paver that rocks or clicks when you step on it. Edging has loosened or the sand joint has washed out. Left alone, one loose paver becomes ten as vehicles push them outward.
- Cracks running across multiple pavers in a straight line. That’s not a paver problem, that’s a base or subgrade problem. Patching the surface without fixing what’s underneath means you’ll see the same crack again after the next heavy rain.
- Sunken sections near the garage apron or street edge. This is common where driveways meet hard transitions, and it’s usually a compaction issue from the original install. In Austin, we see this most on the east side and in older neighborhoods where soil wasn’t stabilized before the pavers went down.
- Weeds or ants pushing up between pavers. Joint sand has thinned out enough that organic material can root. The weeds are the symptom; the missing joint sand is the failure. Polymeric sand replacements stop the weeds and lock the pavers together at the same time.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Paver driveway repairs in Austin run $3,500 – $9,000 for a typical Abodu-sized section, and a full paver driveway installation sits at $7,000 – $18,000. The spread depends on three things: how much base material has to be removed and recompacted, the paver spec (60mm versus 80mm, basic versus architectural finish), and whether we’re matching an existing color or starting fresh. What you get for that number: written price before we order a single paver, the old pavers removed and hauled, base repaired and compacted, new pavers set and jointed, and the site blown clean before we leave. We back the work with our 365-Day Done Right Promise, meaning if the section settles or the joints fail inside a year, we come back and fix it at no charge. You’ll have that in writing before the project starts, not as a verbal assurance.
DIY or Call Us?
You can absolutely pull a single cracked paver, set a replacement, and sweep sand into the joints yourself if the base under it is still solid. That’s a Saturday job with a rubber mallet and a level. Where DIY goes sideways here is when the base has failed or the section has settled, and you’d be surprised how often a homeowner replaces six pavers, waits two months, and watches the whole section sink again because the problem was always six inches below the surface. Paver work isn’t dangerous the way high-tension garage springs or electrical panels are, but it is heavier than it looks, and moving 40 pounds of compacted base per square foot is a lot of shovel work in Texas heat. If the pavers around the problem move when you walk on them, call us at (325) 225-5429. Trevor Nash will tell you straight up whether it’s a paver replacement or a base repair, and what each one costs. Tell me what you need, I’ll tell you what it costs, and we’ll go from there.
FAQs

A properly installed paver driveway in Austin should last 25 – 30 years on the pavers and 15 – 20 years on the base, provided the joints are maintained. Our clay soil and summer heat shorten base life compared to areas with stable, sandy subgrades, so re-sanding every 3 – 5 years is the single best thing you can do to extend the driveway. Call (325) 225-5429 and we’ll tell you what your specific section needs, no charge for the assessment.
Yes, in most cases. Sunken pavers can be lifted, the base re-leveled and recompacted, and the same pavers re-set. This runs $3,500 – $9,000 depending on the size of the section. The exception is when the pavers themselves are cracked through, not just settled, and those need to be replaced rather than reused.
Most driveway paver repairs in Austin take two to three working days from excavation to finished surface. Larger sections or jobs with significant base failure may run four to five days. We’ll give you a written arrival window before work starts, not a vague “sometime next week.”
We keep the most common 60mm and 80mm concrete pavers in our Austin yard, along with joint sand, edge restraints, and base material. If your specific color or profile isn’t on the truck, we order it same week from our suppliers, including Belgard and Unilock lines. We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with Abodu, but we match their paver specs every week. You’ll also find us working with KraftMaid cabinetry, Cambria quartz, and Silestone surfaces on the remodel side of the business, same written-price standard across every job.
If your Abodu driveway or paver section is failing, call (325) 225-5429 for a free estimate. We’ll come out, look at the base, measure the pavers, and hand you a written number before any work begins. The number on day one is the number on the invoice, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise is in writing with every project.
