Blanco Fence Installation: The Austin Owner’s Guide

Blanco fence installation in Austin typically runs $3,500 – $9,000 depending on fence style, linear footage, gate count, and whether we’re removing an old fence or starting fresh. We stock Blanco-compatible gate hardware, post anchors, and rail brackets on our trucks, so most fence installs and gate repairs are completed in one visit. Most Austin homeowners discover a problem the same way: a gate that suddenly drags across the concrete after a hard rain, or a corner post leaning after months of Blackland Prairie clay shifting under it.

Blanco makes solid, well-engineered fencing components, but the Texas climate works against every fence eventually. Between the summer heat baking powder-coated aluminum until it chalks and the spring storms sending tree limbs through pickets, we see the same failure patterns repeat across Travis County. If your fence is sagging, binding, or leaning, you’re in the right place.

Which Blanco Models This Applies To

Blanco fence components span three product families we work with regularly: the Blanco Vinyl Privacy Series, the Blanco Aluminum Estate Series, and the Blanco Steel Post & Rail line. Each family uses different post dimensions, rail bracket spacing, and gate hinge geometry, so matching the right part matters more than most homeowners expect. A post cap from the Vinyl Privacy Series will not seat correctly on an Aluminum Estate post, even if both are “Blanco white.”

To identify your exact Blanco part, check the inside face of the gate frame or the end cap of the top rail. Blanco stamps a part number there, usually a six-digit code beginning with “BL” for vinyl or “BA” for aluminum. If the stamp has faded, measure the post: vinyl posts run 4×4 or 5×5 nominal (3.5 or 4.5 inches actual), while aluminum posts are 2×2 or 2.5×2.5 square tube. Bring us those measurements and we’ll match the part before we arrive.

As for OEM versus aftermarket: for anything structural like gate hinge brackets, post anchors, or rail hangers, we recommend genuine Blanco parts. The hole spacing and wall thickness are engineered for their specific profiles, and universal aftermarket brackets in Austin’s wind zones tend to work loose within a year. For non-structural pieces like post caps, gate latches, and decorative finials, quality aftermarket equivalents from brands like National Hardware or LMT hold up fine and cost 30 – 40% less. We’ll always tell you which choice makes sense for your situation, and the written price reflects the parts we actually use.

Common Blanco Parts We Stock in Austin

  • Gate hinge kits for the Vinyl Privacy and Aluminum Estate lines
  • Post anchors and repair brackets for replacing rotted or leaning posts
  • Gate latch and drop-rod assemblies
  • Rail brackets and hangers for both routed and surface-mount rails
  • Post caps and finials in Blanco white, tan, and clay colors

We also keep a selection of decorative post caps and hardware that matches other trade brands we source from, including KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone, though those apply more to our kitchen and bath work than fencing.

Signs Your Blanco Fence Installation Is Failing

  • The gate drags or binds when opening. This almost always means the hinge side post has shifted out of plumb. In Austin’s expansive clay soil, posts heave and settle with moisture cycles. The hinge brackets themselves are rarely the problem. Left alone, the gate will eventually tear the screws from the post face or snap the top hinge.
  • A corner or line post is leaning noticeably. Two causes: the concrete footing was poured too shallow for the wind load (Austin now requires 30 – 36 inches for gate posts per city code), or the post bottom sat in water and the wood or steel insert degraded. Once a post leans past 5 degrees, resetting is the fix, not shimming.
  • Rails sag between posts. Blanco vinyl rails have a maximum unsupported span of 72 inches for the 2×4 profile. If the installer stretched that to 96 inches to save a post, the rails will bow within the first two summers. We also see this when a tree limb falls across the top rail and the internal stiffener kinks.
  • White or tan vinyl is chalking or showing hairline cracks. Chalking is cosmetic and common with Austin’s UV exposure after 8 – 10 years. Hairline cracks at rail ends or gate corners are structural and will spread. These can’t be glued reliably. Replacing the affected sections is the only durable fix.
  • The gate latch no longer catches. Usually a settling fence or a worn spring in the latch assembly. Gates account for most of the repair calls we get in neighborhoods like Barton Hills, Crestview, and Circle C because they carry all the daily motion. The rest of the fence might have years of life left while the gate needs attention now.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

An open kitchen and dining area after a remodel

For a full Blanco-compatible fence installation in Austin, you’re looking at $3,500 – $9,000. The range is driven by four things: total linear footage, fence height and style, number of gates, and how much of the old fence has to come out. A simple 100-foot vinyl run with one gate will sit near the bottom of that range. A 200-foot aluminum estate fence with two gates, a corner, and old fence removal will land at the top.

Every fence quote includes parts, labor, old fence removal and disposal, concrete footings, and a written workmanship warranty. We provide a written price before any work starts. Not an estimate range. Not a verbal ballpark. The number on day one is the number on the invoice. If something fails inside the guarantee period, our 365-Day Done Right Promise means we come back and fix it at no charge. If a repair we make fails again, the second visit is free too.

Gates run higher per linear foot than straight fence because they need larger posts, deeper footings, and reinforced hardware. A single Blanco gate with hardware and two 5×5 posts typically adds $500 – $900 to the job. Tell us what you need, I’ll tell you what it costs, and we’ll go from there.

DIY or Call Us?

A homeowner can safely check a few things: look for the Blanco part number stamp, measure post dimensions, and note whether the gate drags on the latch side or hinge side. Knowing these details saves time when we arrive and helps us stock the right parts on the truck.

What we don’t recommend is digging out and resetting a gate post yourself, or trying to re-hang a sagging gate. A gate post carries hundreds of pounds of leverage every time it swings. If the footing is undersized you’ll have the same problem again after the next rain. If a post snaps or a gate drops while you’re working on it, that’s a serious injury risk. The stakes are higher with steel gates. Our crew does this work weekly in Austin and the surrounding area, with background-checked, uniformed technicians and the right equipment. Call (325) 225-5429 and we’ll come take a look at no charge.
