Blanco Bathroom Remodeling: The Austin Owner’s Guide

Blanco bathroom remodeling in Austin typically runs $9,000 – $28,000 installed, depending on the size of the space, the Blanco fixtures you’re keeping or replacing, and whether we’re doing a full gut or a targeted refresh around your existing Blanco sink and faucet. Most homeowners call us after a Blanco drain assembly fails, a Blanco faucet cartridge starts dripping, or water damage behind a Blanco undermount sink shows up on the drywall below. This page walks through what actually goes wrong with these parts, what it costs to fix or remodel around them in Austin, and how we handle the work.

Which Blanco Models This Applies To

Blanco makes two distinct categories that matter to a bathroom remodel: their faucet lines and their sink lines. We work with both. On the faucet side, the Blanco Culina, Linus, and Solenta lines show up most often in Austin homes, and each uses a different cartridge spec. The Culina takes a 35mm ceramic disc cartridge, the Linus uses a 40mm, and the Solenta runs a 35mm but with a different spline count on the handle stem. That spline difference is the gotcha: a cartridge that looks identical on the shelf will not seat properly if it’s the wrong series. On the sink side, Blanco’s Silgranit material (their granite composite) behaves differently than their stainless models when it comes to undermount clips and drain hardware. The older Silgranit I series used a different drain thread pitch than the current Silgranit II, so we always pull the model number off the sink label before ordering anything. OEM Blanco parts are our default because the guarantee behind them is clean, but for a homeowner watching budget on an older model, a quality aftermarket cartridge from a brand like Danco runs about half the OEM price and we’ll tell you honestly when it makes sense. Treveor Nash has seen enough of these to know that matching the part to the exact model from the start saves everyone a return trip.

Signs Your Blanco Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

  • Dripping from the spout or handle base. This is almost always a worn cartridge seal. You’ll see a slow drip that gets worse over a few weeks, and the handle may feel loose or gritty when you turn it.
  • Leak under the sink only when the faucet runs. That’s usually a failed supply line connection or a cracked O-ring inside the faucet body. The water only shows up under pressure, which is why it’s easy to miss during a quick check.
  • Discolored or soft drywall below the sink cabinet. This means the Blanco drain assembly has been weeping for a while. The silicone seal between the strainer and the sink bowl dries out over time, especially in Austin’s hard water, and a slow drip eventually rots the cabinet floor.
  • Slow draining that doesn’t improve with cleaning. Mineral buildup from Austin’s water supply narrows the drain tailpiece over time. It’s not a clog you can snake out, it’s the interior diameter of the pipe itself shrinking.
  • Caulk separation around an undermount Blanco sink. The sink is starting to pull away from the countertop. This is a structural problem, not just cosmetic, because water gets behind the seal and into the substrate (the moisture-resistant layer behind your tile or solid surface).

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A focused Blanco faucet or drain repair in Austin falls on the lower end, usually $250 – $600 in parts and labor. A full bathroom remodel that keeps your existing Blanco sink but rebuilds the shower, flooring, and vanity typically lands between $9,000 and $28,000, and the spread depends on three things: whether you’re moving plumbing (the big cost driver), what tile and cabinetry you select, and whether the existing waterproofing needs to be torn out and redone. Every quote we give is a written number before any work starts, so you know exactly what the Blanco parts cost and exactly what the labor costs. We pull the Blanco model numbers at the estimate visit, quote the OEM part pricing, and include a written 365-day guarantee: if the repair fails inside the guarantee period, we come back and fix it at no charge. No changed number at the door.

DIY or Call Us?

A homeowner with a basin wrench and some patience can swap a Blanco faucet cartridge or replace a visible supply line in about an hour. The risks are scraping the faucet finish with the wrong tool, ordering the wrong cartridge because the spline count didn’t match, and over-tightening the drain assembly until the Silgranit or stainless bowl cracks. That last one is the one we see most often. Undermount sink separation is not a DIY job, period: the countertop needs to be supported, the sink re-clamped, and the seal reworked from below. If the drywall under the sink is soft, that’s a water damage situation that needs professional attention before the remodel portion even starts.
